WoW!
Just today I was listening to the Jake Burns interview that comes with an SLF CD package... What a great band!
Thanks very much for this post!
If my memory serves me right the BBC nationwide programme did something on NI punk rock in about 1980 they also had undertones and Rudi on.
thanx for this
brilliant
You've made an old man very happy!!
But what happened to the rest of the video? Seems to me that the closing chords belong to a different SLF concert from the days before their first split. Any chance that it sees the light of day sometimes?
Greetings from Germany and keep on with your fantastic site!
Hanx indeed! Great stuff, I'd no idea this existed. Jim Reilly was a terrific drummer
the programme you are talking about was called bout ye on bbc ni. it was a youth show broke up of clips of slf and u2 at a concert recorded in the mc mordie hall now the mandela hall facing queens university in befast.the opening of the show had jim reilly saying bout ye in his belfast accent a term used here when you meet someone. hope u find this useful. goin to see slf tomorrow night at the ulster hall. jake belfast.
I was at the gig and as Anonymous says it was in the Mandela Hall which is part of the Queen's University Students Union in Belfast. U2 also played a gig there around the same time for the 'Bout Ye' programme.
The gig was recorded for the TVs show 'bout ye' which I featured on. We recorded the show over a period of 4 months. The gig was st NcMordie hall, queens univ.
