The Slits - Primavera Festival 2010

as a tribute to Ari Up lead singer of the slits who died yesterday,i present this gig recorded earlier this year at a festival in spain.there are 11 tracks here with a great version of 'i heard it through the grapevine' being a standout for me.this is a brilliant recording and i think really shows what a brilliantly underrated band i think they were.our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

The Slits - Peel Sessions

keeping things punk and pistols related(ill explain in a second!)finds us with this compilation of slits sessions also recorded for john peel.the band formed in 1976 from the ashes of two bands (flowers of romance and the castrators).the current line up of the band features several of the original line up but also holly cook who is paul cooks daughter and Ari Up (vocals)is also johnny rottens step daughter.there we have the pistols connection.anyway please listen, enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!
