With the sad passing on Tuesday of Beat vocalist Ranking Roger at the far too young age of only 56, here is a reposting of a show from the band recorded in Hammersmith in 1982.RR was an awesome presence on the stage, non stop bouncing, dancing and singing from start to finish,a true gentleman who even though i never met him, will miss him terribly. R.I.P

Cheers Gob! Thanks for the repoast and the kind words...off to download right now!
Nice post - I still have the original radio transmission of this on cassette (the BBC version, none of this 'English Best' nonsense!) but it's great to get a good quality replacement for it!
There were quite a few other good broadcasts around this time - I recall a Madness one notable for an embryonic version of 'The Sun and the Rain' as well as early Style Council and The Truth concerts (if they're your sort of thing). If you've got any of those...
Cheers
Brilliant! Many thnaks for all the great posts. Keep the faith.
This was a really nice set. I've always loved the Beat, but this was one of the best live recordings I've come across. Thank you so much for making it available.
