Another delicious re-post from the box labelled 'Repost these now please ' comes this album from Ruts DC.After the great vocalist Malcolm Owen's death from a heroin overdose in 1980, The Ruts added a "D.C." to their name, for "Da Capo" (meaning "back to the beginning) and recorded Animal Now in 1981. Adding sax man Gary Barnacle as a full time member and Paul Fox handling the vocals, Animal Now still features riveting songs and Foxy's amazing guitar work, but more jazz and reggae influences come to the fore. Dangerous Minds, Despondency and No Time To Kill are 3 of the standout songs here for me.This CD re-release of Animal Now contains 7 bonus tracks with demos and extended versions of various songs.so sit back, relax, play it loud, enjoy, then leave a comment.thanks!

The RUTS were a great band!
"Animal Now" proved RUTS DC could go on without Malcolm Owen (RIP). saddly, they disbanded soon after the second RUTS DC lp "Rhythm Collision"! too bad...
I couldn't agree more ;))
