Evening all in interweb land. This is a post thats been kicking around on the hard drive for a while waiting patiently to be posted. Ive been listening to the recent brilliant live on radio6 post from The Specials that i got here at auralscuptors and i remembered that i had this one ready to go. Crisis of Conformity - Fist Fight!

Afternoon listeners and welcome to sunny muebles towers on a cold wet afternoon in old London town. This little gem is another of Dave Grohls many side projects. Its a feckin cracking blast of 80's style hardcore. The "a-side" reminds me in particular of sixpack by black flag for some reason although to you it may sound like someone else. The "b-side" reminds me of a song by suicidal tendencies that i cant quite remember the name of. Anyway give this a listen and it s guaranteed to chase away any oncoming winter blues. For me it bought loads of memories of a misspent youth flooding back, i hope it does something similar for you all too. so now just listen,enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

The Clash - On Broadway (short film)repost

after another trawl through the muebles archives last night i found this.its a brilliant record of a brilliant band.here is what wikipedia have to say about it.

"Aborted film project begun by Don Letts and The Clash. The intent of the film was to document the events and performances centering around the band's historic seventeen consecutive shows at Bond's International, a club located in Time's Square, NYC, extending from May 28-June 13, 1981. Footage included Topper Headon strolling around NYC at night & being interviewed while riding in a taxi, the group sitting on a rooftop watching a group of young black kids rap and breakdance, the graffitti artist Futura plying his trade, the backstage scene, and stellar perfomances from the Bond's shows.
Although the film itself never materialized, the footage that was shot provided the basis for the "This is Radio Clash" video "

Originally hailing from Brazil and now based in Shepherds Bush they play a mean mix of country,punk bluegrass and all stops in between. Influenced as well by everything from Brazilian music to Elvis, johnny cash and the ramones. Theres a stand up double bass, what looks to me like an awesome Gretsch guitar and some brilliant Lemmy like vocals.They can be found playing all sorts of venues from Shoreditch to Soho. Happy Birthday Blog

just realised the blog celebrated its 4th birthday a few weeks ago.never thought id make it 1 month but 4 years?anyway its been a blast so far and i hope i can(gobby junior and work permitting!!)keep going for more.thanks to all for visiting,leaving comments,nicking posts and then reposting them elsewhere,making requests,sending links,cd's,dvds,concert tickets and other assorted bits of tat(!)through the post,ive loved all of it.please keep sending stuff (posters ,flyers badges and tshirts would be nice!!)as we raise a glass or two to another 4 years.

If anybody who has a band or label wants a bit of free publicity please feel free to send cd's demos,stickers etc to me (a postal address can be provided)and i will post them,give them as prizes in competitions(now theres an idea!),as i think its about time to move part of the blog in a new direction and try and help in whatever way i can to promoting new music,bands and venues.ive been thinking about doing this for a while and i think with your help we can really do something brilliant.thanks for visting and leave comments letting me know what you think!

"On this date in 1980, Penetration released their third album, Race Against Time. The A side consisted of demos made between 1977 and 1978. The B side were live tracks recorded between 1978 and 1979. The album was made to look like a bootleg because of contractual issues with the record company and the fact that the band had disbanded a few months before. The punk band, fronted by Pauline Murray, was from Newcastle, England. "
