The Specials - Ally Pally 2011

Good evening listeners and welcome back after far too long an absence to another stonking live offering from Coventrys favourites The Specials. This offering comes from my own copy of the c.d but unfortunately i dont know to make eye toons import artwork and still cant operate my wifes scanner so you will have to put up with this random band picture i got from the web somewhere.its a brilliant show which was a great one to be at for me especially as they played my favourite track 'guns of navarone' which i have waited over 30 years to hear/see performed live.ive been to other gigs on this reunion tour but they never played it until now.it was also great to hear tracks from 'more specials' live as well.anyhoo i really hope you enjoy this live offering as a first posting in months.over the next few days i will get round to working my way through reposts etc and posting a whole bunch of new stuff.so as you know by now all that remains to be done is listen, enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

The Specials - Live Newcastle 79

i got home from work a few hours ago and look what i found in the letterbox.camden dave got this from a torrentty place or lime wire or something and did me a copy of it.its great to hear some new specials stuff.the sounds pretty good for a 30 year old audience recording.its just great to hear the specials from 1979 just to reaffirm that they sound as good today as they did back then.anyway you know everything about the band by now so its just time for me to be quiet and for you to listen(on a decent pair of headphones!)enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

The Specials - Live From Down Under

thanks to camden dave for this.its (12 songs only, sorry!) recorded at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney a few days ago as part of the specials ongoing tour of world domination, er.... i mean the 30th anniversary tour and a mighty fine listen it is.some of the songs sound better than others with man at c+a being a particularly fine rendition.i can only assume its because the taper had to keep moving about or something.anyway who cares?its a really nice job and im hoping that the rest of the set will arrive soon.actually camden said that hopefully by wednesday there should be more from this gig and hopefully a decent recording from birmingham as well should be up and blogged.so thats something to look forward to.so now its time to put on your skanking trousers, play this one loud, dance and enjoy yourselves then leave a comment.thanks!

Firstly thanks to PABBY for recording the gig and then uploading to dimeadozen for us.if you read the comments he has another specials post to come soon.i cant wait for that one.top notch guy and we all thank him a lot.

woohoo.thanks again to madphil for the headsup on this gem and also to longy for the advice on winrar and also to camden dave for all the other stuff involved in getting this recording to you.me and camden took longys advice and as he said bizarrely enough it seems to have worked.we also did the gig as winzip instead of winrar and maybe that worked too.but we downloaded it again to check and it WORKS!!!all 27 tracks of it (although one is the break when they left the stage before the encores).i think the sound is slightly better too which is always nice.so until the next posting or next tuesday may the 12th when i see some of you at brixton academy(ill be in front of the mixing desk wearing a mondo-de-muebles t-shirt!!)play this loud, enjoy and leave a comment.thanks!
