Evening all.here we have for your reading enjoyment this evening ,all 11 issues of Punk Lives ! magazine.Originally published in '82/83 i think,it features all the bands you'd expect such as The Exploited,GBH,Alien sex fiend,Vice Squad,Serious Drinking,Peter and the testtube Babies etc etc from the time. I've really been enjoying reading it and im hoping you will too.All issues are presented in the easy to use PDF format so you'll have no trouble reading them on computers,kindles and i-pads etc.So now its over to you to read and enjoy and then leave a comment.Thanks very much

Does anyone have this please?

Evening all. while doing a clearout of cupboards at home i found a whole load of old concert posters from shows that id been to over the years and i thought id see if i could get recordings of any of them. im wondering if anyone has a recording of the UK Subs set from the "Fuck Reading" show from Brixton Academy from August 27th 1994. Or any of the bands from that day. 999, Chelsea, Anti Nowhere League, etc etc but particularly the Subs set. Thanks for listening and im hoping someone can help.

UK Subs - Punk can take it !

Evening all. Ok bit of a story behind this post.Ive been reading an excellent book while i was on holiday in Galway last week called "The palace and the punks" by Tony Hill. Its all about the ups and downs of a club called The Grey Topper. Based on personal recollections and interviews with musicians who played there, people who went to and worked there, it is a wonderful picture of life and a story a lot of us will be able to connect with and remind us of our youths. A very warm and a lot of the time laugh out loud funny story (wait till you read the one about adam ants jacket!!) it is a wonderful read and i highly recommend you buy it. You can get it on amazon here the palace and the punks in paperback and kindle versions at a very good price. Anyway there is a wonderful story about the UK Subs and it mentions a short film called "Punk can take it" directed by Julian Temple. Id never heard of it before so i asked Camden Dave what he knew of it and whether he had it. Lo and behold here it is. Its directed in a mock wartime public information style and features a mix of live footage and staged pieces too with guest appearances from the likes of Ed Tudorpole etc. When released it apparently played as an opener to the film Scum the brutal prison film with Ray Winstone. greetings listeners!for your delectation this evening we have a live compilation of various punk bands recorded at various venues around the world.i dont have any info on venues or dates etc etc but i do know that its a good listen and one i know you will enjoy.its part of a 3 disk set but i wasnt sent the other 2.the other 2 disks are studio versions ( i think) of various punk tracks.anyhoo please listen,enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

on a recent trip to the 'record and tape exchange' in londons berwick street i got this brilliant live compilation cd for £2.its a great quality live compilation taken from previous roxy compilation albums and other live roxy club recordings by some of the artists.the sound on it is very good indeed and features an interesting drum intro to 'oh bondage up yours' and a fantastic version of 'smash it up'.so its a great listen and a great piece of punk history.i didnt scan the cover so i borrowed this one from the interweb.anyhoo play this loud,pogo,enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

this is a compilation of 5 tracks recorded by the band for the john peel show but i know they did a lot more.a great band led by the charismatic and very friendly charlie harper.when i lived in brixton he used to drink in the same pub (the prince of wales if youre interested!) and was always up for a game of pool or a chat.so for a blast from punk rocks glorious past give this session a listen.enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!
