Originally recorded by the BBC for the Rock Hour/Pete Larkin show in the USA this is a cracking sounding 14 track concert of the Jam at their incendiary best. It was recorded in Newcastle some time in 1981 on the Sound Affects tour i think but i dont have an exact date. anyway thats not important. what is important is that you listen, enjoy and then leave a comment. thanks!

Thanks mate.
ReplyDeleteGreat show !!
Thank you so much for this..a great Jam show from them at their very peak i think.Cheers for all the other great music you upload too,it's much appreciated.Top man :)For the record, and not being trainspotterish at all haha, but i believe this was recorded for Capital Radio at the Newcastle City Hall on either the 27th or 28th of October 1980 during the Sound Affects Tour.i have an old cassette, but intriguingly it has some different tracks..Modern World & Private Hell comes to mind.Regardless great stuff and thanks again. All the best Deek fae Scotland :)
ReplyDeletegreetings my Scottish friend.when I got this cd and went to rip it it had 2 intro tracks from that guy pete larkin who popped up on the beats gig from hammersmith so I just didn't include them as no music was lost and so I didn't see the point of them. can anyone confirm where and when this excellent gig was recorded?thanks
ReplyDeleteThank You! Cant wait to hear this!
ReplyDeleteThe gig is from Newcastle City Hall, October 26, 1980.
ReplyDeleteThree tracks can be found on official CD 'Live Jam' - Eton Rifles, When You're Young and 'A' Bomb.
The Complete Jam DVD has footage from the gig. Tracks are
'A' Bomb In Wardour Street
David Watts
Eton Rifles
Going Underground
Pretty Green
To Be Someone (Didn't We Have A Nice Time
Scrape Away
The bootleg CD 'All Conned Mods'also has the tracks
Private Hell
Modern World
Little Boy Soldiers
But I'm Different Now
Unfortunately this CD has a rough sound to it not as crisp as this download which is a pity.
By combining all these sources, you get a more complete concert. Who knows one day we may get to hear the whole concert.
Thank you for all the music!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gobshyte!
